The International Association of Online Engineering (IAOE) is an international non-profit organization with the objective of encouraging the wider development, distribution and application of Online Engineering (OE) technologies and it’s influence to the society. The association seeks to foster practices in education and research in universities, higher education institutions and the industry on OE. Moreover the IAOE promotes OE for the improvement of living and working conditions.

The IAOE encourages the exchange of knowledge as well as the exchange of staff and students between co-operating institutions. IAOE co-organizes annual conferences that cover topics related to Online Engineering (both technical and educational aspects). REV (The International Conference on Remote Engineering and Virtual Instrumentation) is the annual conference of IAOE. The general objective of this conference is to demonstrate and discuss fundamentals, applications and experiences in the field of remote engineering and virtual instrumentation. With the globalization of education the interest in and need of teleworking, remote services and collaborative working environments now increases rapidly. Another objective of the symposium is to discuss guidelines for education in university level courses for these topics. IAOE has around 2.000 members spread all over the world.
